The department of the Lot makes part of
a very old historic unity, "Le Quercy".
This country corresponds appreciably to the territory of the Gaelic tribe
of "Cadourques", the last resistant to the Roman domination.
From the prehistory till our days, the Valley of the Dordogne has kept
many marks of its past.
From caves to dolmens, from the Roman occupation to the Hundred Years'
War, from the Renaissance to the revolution, from the Resistance to our
days... so many traces that marked the landscape, so much places to discover.
