| The
department of the Lot is part of an ancient historic unit: "the
Quercy". Since pre-historical times, the Dordogne Valley has retained
many marks of its past.
The land corresponds more or less to the Gaelic Tribe of Cadourques' territory,
which strongly resisted the Roman domination.
From caves to dolmens, from the Roman occupation to the Hundred Years' War,
from the Renaissance to the revolution, from the Resistance to our days... so
many eras that mark the landscape, so many places to discover. |
